Eligibility:

Age :
Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st August, 2012. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

Educational Qualification:
Candidate must hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent. Provided that a candidate applying for the posts of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Engineer Group A in Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation may possess M.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. Candidates who qualify on the results of the written part of the examination will be summoned for personality test.

Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.

Fee:
Rs.100/- either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of
State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/ Master Credit/Debit card.. SC/ ST/ Female / PH candidates are exempted from payment (OBC candidates required to pay full fee).

    • Yes, a student of final year can apply, but he must be above 21 years of age by August 1 in that particular year.

    • As of now, no.Only Civil, Mechanical, Electrical , Electronics and Telecom graduates are eligible.

  • ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION

    Only Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering students can apply for Engineering Services Examination.

    Objective Paper

    General Ability Test:

    Part A – General English

    Part B – General Studies

    Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

    Paper I 2 hours 200

    Paper II 2 hours 200

    Conventional Paper Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

    Paper I 3 hours 200

    Paper II 3 hours 200

    TOTAL (Written 1000

    Personality test for selected candidates 200

    GRAND TOTAL 1200

    Separate cutoff is set for Objective Papers by the UPSC (out of 600 – for General Ability + 200 for each Objective paper). Conventional papers will be evaluated only if you score above the cut-off out of 600 as set by the Commission.

    There is an overall cut-off for written examination (out of 1000 – 200 for General Ability + 200 for each Objective papers + 200 for each Conventional Papers) for gaining selection for Personality Test. You will be called for the Personality Test (Interview) only if you surpass the cut-off marks.

    There is a final cut-off (out of 1200) for preparing the final list which recommends candidates for selection to the Commission.

    If you are absent in any one of the papers (General Studies, Objective – Paper I or Paper II or Conventional – Paper I or Paper II) your candidature stands cancelled.

    If you are absent for Personality Test, your candidature is cancelled and you will not be eligible for a selection in the final list in spite of having attempted all papers on written test.

    There is no limit on the attempts for Engineering Services Exam. A general candidate can attempt till the attainment of 30 years.
